Naibala Academy - Expanding access to quality education in Maasai Kenya

About

This project is a follow-up to Medialthea previous support for initiatives carried out with Green World Food Garden for Kids in the same territory. Building on an established partnership and local presence, the intervention focuses on strengthening an existing educational hub that already plays a key role for children and families in the community.

Education in this context is not only a learning opportunity, but a critical factor for stability, protection and long-term development—especially for girls.

Strengthening education and protection for Maasai children

The project focuses on strengthening Naibala Academy’s educational infrastructure to support its growth and long-term sustainability in a remote Maasai area of Kenya, where access to stable, quality education remains a critical challenge.

The follow-up intervention aims to:

The funding is specifically allocated to the construction of the two classrooms and to their related functioning, ensuring that the new learning spaces can be effectively integrated into the school’s educational activities.

The expansion directly benefits students of both genders, with a significant positive impact on girls’ access to uninterrupted education. By reinforcing an existing and trusted community school, the project consolidates Naibala Academy as a stable reference point for education and protection in a vulnerable and isolated context.

Empowered communities are the architects of their own progress.
