Medialthea and WeWorld: Together for Education in Palestine

Report by Dina Taddia – WEWORLD | 30 September 2025

In September 2025, Medialthea Association began its partnership with WeWorld, committing €15,000 to the Resilient, Inclusive and Safe Education (RISE) programme in Palestine, which promotes access to quality education and psychosocial support for children affected by conflict in Gaza.

Despite extremely challenging conditions, WeWorld continues to ensure access to education and psychosocial support for children living in the Gaza Strip.
Through Medialthea’s initial contribution, the programme supports the rehabilitation of Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) — safe and inclusive environments designed to restore a sense of normality, protection and hope for children affected by war.

Education and Protection for 830 Children

The partnership focuses on both infrastructure improvements and the training of teachers and psychologists to strengthen local capacity in child protection and socio-emotional learning (SEL).
During the school year, the supported TLS hosted around 830 students, offering:

  • educational and recreational activities in a protected setting;

  • psychosocial and SEL programs to help children manage emotions and build resilience;

  • stress management sessions for 140 caregivers, promoting family and community support;

  • hygiene awareness sessions and distribution of hygiene and menstrual kits to over 830 children.

Shared Commitment

The initiative is implemented by WeWorld in partnership with the Teachers Creativity Center (TCC), a local organization specializing in education and inclusion of children with disabilities.
As the WeWorld team underlines:

“Despite the extreme conditions we faced, we managed to continue our educational and training activities for Gaza’s children and their teachers.
The emergency is far from over, but as we say at WeWorld — changing the world is a team effort.”
