Report by Dina Taddia – WEWORLD | 31 October 2025
Between August and October 2025, WeWorld continued to deliver quality education and psychosocial support to children in Gaza through the Resilient, Inclusive and Safe Education (RISE) , supported by Medialthea Association.
Despite ongoing conflict and instability, the project successfully reached thousands of children and strengthened the capacity of local educators and psychologists to respond to their students’ emotional and educational needs.
12 Temporary Learning Spaces and 1,800 Children Reached
During the reporting period, 12 Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) were opened in Gaza City, Khan Younis and Deir Al Balah — providing safe, inclusive and flexible environments where children could learn, play and regain a sense of normality.
In parallel, summer camps welcomed 1,804 children (820 boys and 984 girls), offering remedial classes in Arabic, English and Mathematics combined with creative workshops, games and group activities to foster emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Training for Teachers and Psychologists
In August 2025, 60 teachers in Gaza took part in an intensive training course blending theory and practice on how conflict impacts learning and how to apply Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in classrooms.
Additionally, 30 psychologists and psychosocial specialists were trained in psychological first aid, early detection of mental health issues and counselling techniques — enhancing their ability to support both children and families in crisis.
Building Resilience Through Education
By integrating arts, sports and creative play into daily routines, the RISE programme helps children express emotions, rebuild trust and strengthen social ties.
Each child received a personal learning kit and healthy daily snacks, turning the TLSs into genuine spaces of growth and protection.
“In such a difficult environment, every safe space becomes a bridge to hope. Education is not only about learning — it’s about healing and rebuilding lives,” said a member of the WeWorld team in Gaza.
